The International Press Awards is an event that honors succesful Brazilians and Americans who contribute to the Brazilian Comunity. An array of performers, Brazilian celebrities and icons, and important american people that keep Brazilian culture alive in the U.S congregate during the ceremony to recieve achievment awards in diffrent artisitic and acomplishment categories. It is a time of honoring the success of the people who made honorable names in the press and have kept the Brazilian comunity flourishing.

Cultural Producer Carlos Borges, a Brazilian living in Florida who is head of Acontece magazine recently put an article about me and my acting in his magazine (see entry below). He also happens to be the man who started the Press Awards 10 years ago. He aprouched me and asked me if i'd do the honors of presenting the nominations and awards for some of the categories at this years ceremony. I accepted with great apreciation and found myself amungst a crowd of my favorite Brazilian legends.

I attended the awards the previous year and loved it. I even thoaght to myself "man, it would be great to be part of this."

I thank Carlos Borges for everything he has done for me, and his daughter Amanda Borges who presented the awards with me.
